Once Upon A Soldier

Salute Our Services, Inc., is partnering with organizations around the country to offer Soldiers facing a deployment the opportunity to come in and be videotaped while reading their child's favorite bedtime story. This videotape becomes one of the child's most precious possessions during the deployment and keeps the image of the absent parent fresh in the child's memory.

Kids Serve Too when a mom or dad is deployed

One way to minimize the child's sense of loss when a parent is deployed, is to play the Once Upon a Soldier for them at bedtime or any time during the day when they might seem a little down. Kids can never be too young or old for a Once Upon a Soldier!

If You Are A Soldier, Sailor, or Marine

For information on where to go to have your own videotape made, please email us and we will update you on the locations in your area.  This service is free of charge to all military men and women facing a deployment. 

If You Are A Business or Individual Willing to Support this Effort

Any contribution you are able to make helps us cover the costs of the tapes and the videographer. Videotaping is scheduled on specific days at main locations within easy access for Soldiers.  Books are provided if they do not have one selected.  Please designate Once Upon A Soldier on any Salute Our Services contributions you make to support this effort.
